Ok. So the spoonful of honey before bed for the blood sugar levels is genius. Why have I not heard of this lol. But yes! I really appreciate you writing out sample schedules and adaptations That helps so much. 😍 thank you!

I've always had wake up periods. I used to stress about it but now accept it. I found my sleep tracker (which i just got this year) does give me reassurance that I have 2 phase sleep rather than a night of tossing and turning.

Hi Jane, This is interesting to hear - on many levels! I saw a study where many people seemed to feel their sleep quality was different to the rating that their sleep tracker gave. But I don't know how many of the trackers took the different sleeps into account. I need to dig further! I imagine that night movement tracking is very accurate and clear to see in the morning. So, regardless of how it rates the overall night, a tracker would show when the breaks happened, then the sleep either side could be interpreted. Do you find it rates your sleep quality (for the two segments) as you would?

I've heard about this. Do you think biphasic sleep is something that happens more when you get older? For me this is a fairly recent development!

"Many people find that embracing the wake period, rather than resisting it, leads to better sleep quality and a calmer mind." This is very true in my experience and also easier to fall back asleep if I do this.

Hi Suzanne,

This is also great to hear! I was certainly one for the occasional all-nighter (essay deadlines etc) but rarely noticed a regular gap in the middle of the night. If I did, I fell straight back to sleep. If I get less sleep these days (or rather nights), it takes days to shake off the brain fog - I certainly notice that. Gaps in the night - yes, more. And more early waking happens. If I send myself to bed early, because I feel really tired, I wake up about 4 hours after - And it feels good! I am going to start going to bed earlier each day, just a touch, to see what happens.
